Hello Kitty!

 

I love Hello Kitty! The last time I was in New York, Mark and Jessica surprised me by taking me to a Hello Kitty boutique. Very cool! I, of course, wanted to buy a ton of stuff, but contented myself with buying a cool (and environmentally friendly) lunchbox. (Note to self: I should dig out that lunchbox and actually start using it.) But I did enjoy wandering the shop and looking at all the fun figurines and other items on display and for sale.

Tigers vs. Cubs

 

Mark and I went with the Oasis crew to see the Tigers and Cubs play. It started off a sweltering 93 degrees in the direct sun (plus high humidity), with the Cubs winning, 3-0. But as the game wore on, a storm front moved in, which helped to cool the temp by about 10 degrees, and sputtered a little, and the Tigers played some strong innings, consistently getting runs, and keeping the Cubs from making very many runs. The rain held off until after the game ended, with an amazing 9th inning of 6-4, moving to 6-5 after a homerun, two strike-outs, a double, and then a third strike-out. Whew! I was nervous!
