Lolcatz

So, I've seen a couple of these macros before that were quite funny, but this one was particularly cute and funny. I love Caturday! And I love how the siamese is totally giving a speech in this picture. More can lolcatz can be found at http://icanhascheezburger.com/ , which is a great website address. If you take a look at enough of the macros, you'll understand how the website got its address.

Baby Watch

By the way, for those who have been paying attention to Becky and MommaC's blog, you would already know about Avery being born on June 24! Congratulations to the family!

Flowers!

So below are the pictures I found of the flower ideas I like for the bouquets and boutineers. I have no idea what kind of flower that star-shaped white flower is, so if anyone does, and could let me know, that would really help me! :)

Countdown

Amazingly July 1 has come and gone, which means we are down to our last two final months before the wedding (just a mere 60 days). Let’s take stock of how we’re coming:

1. Wedding dress. Done, but now I have to worry about alterations. I do have my shoes now, plus my tiara/headband, but I don't have any jewelry yet, and who know about hair and makeup!.

2. Mark’s Tux. Still only sort of done. Mark needs to change the shirt still, and Steve and Tony have changed their minds about the style of tux. Plus, now my dad wants to change his tux (really, it's my mom that wants him to change his tux).

3. Cake. (Relatively) Done. We have an appointment with Kim, our cakeperson, at Zingerman's next week to finalize the cake. The other thing is to order our centerpeice cakes, but we have some time on that.

4. Photographer. DONE. Deposit sent. We just have to decide where we'll be taking pictures between the ceremony and reception, and make out our list of "must-have" photos.

5. Florist. Haven't even thought about it. My mom is currently in charge of this. I've found some pictures of flower ideas I like, and my mom is supposed to find some florists to see and get prices from. I'm thinking Mark and I will both have red roses, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen will have white.

6. Music. Almost done. Katie is single-handedly filling up our playlist with mix CDs she's making for reception music. We have a lot more music now, so we can probably just set the playlist on shuffle at this point, and let it go. It'd be nice to have a little more, because right now the range is bent towards my sister's taste--which I like (mostly)--but having a bit more of a range would be nice (although there will be NO country).

7. Transportation. My dad did call me last week to tell me that the Mustang started up. I don't know how it looks, as I haven't peeked at it in a long time, but I suppose the fact that it is drive-able is a step in the right direction.

8. Hotel Accommodations. Now reduced to a minor disaster. Most of the critical people have hotel rooms now, but still not my parents. We're working on it. In the meanwhile, our contact people have offered some things in return for all this misunderstanding and trouble, which is nice.

9. Honeymoon. We’d LIKE to take a honeymoon…still not that probable.

10. Wedding invitations. We'd like them to go out at the end of this week or sometime next week. Holly helped a good deal in finalizing our look, which Mark and I both like, so we worked for something like 8 hours yesterday on different pieces of the invitation. We still have to finalized our wording, and then also work on the response cards, but we've made a good deal of progress, which makes me feel very relieved.

11. Bridal showers. I've got one for my family and one for Mark's family planned for in July, so hopefully this month will be the fun month of hanging out with people (and getting presents!).

12. Bachelor/ette pary. Mark and I decided we'd like to have a joint party, which we have good ideas for, but really no planning has been done yet. We'll turn to that after we get the wedding invitations out.

We're really getting down to the nitty-gritty stuff. We've also started selecting our readings and music for the ceremony, which is probably one of the easier things to do, as Mark and I are in agreement on a lot of the things we don't like for the readings. Still, there's plenty to do, and thankfully we've got some very nice people who are being very helpful.
