The EEB Holiday Party

Mark and I went to my work's holiday party, which was held at the Natural History Museum. I've never been in a museum for a party, and this was pretty cool! Beverages, food, and kaoroke, and the whole museum to ourselves.

The Cabinet of Curiosities

We walked around and looked at a lot of the exhibits during the holiday party. One of the exhibits was called the Cabinet of Curiosities, and it had picture. From afar it looked like some birds, but when you looked up close, you could see the pictures was created from a variety of creatures (beetles, moths, spiders, bats). It was simultaneously interesting and creepy (I can't imagine who collected all the bugs, etc., to design and create this picture).

Shopping for Presents

Mark's work is doing a holiday present drive and Mark chose two kids for us to get presents for--an 11-year old boy and a 5-year old girl. It was a lot of fun picking out presents for these two kids, as you can probably guess.
