The Guys!

So here are so more photos from my formal wedding album at the bar of just the guys.

The paper is a light green with a filigree design.  I used red strips to offset the photos from the soft background.

The two photos on the top half have a higher saturation, so the bottom of the photos are pretty much all black, so I added the title to help break up the blackness of the photo.

Some Down-Time Between the Wedding and Reception

Here's another page from my formal wedding album!  In between the wedding and the reception, we had a few hours to take formal pictures at the Inn at St. John's, and then in downtown Plymouth.

While downtown, we walked around the square, took a few photos in front of the movie theater, and then went into the bar to get a drink.  (That was a nice break in the middle of the afternoon!)

This is another fairly simple layout.  I wanted the bright colors of the paper to highlight the black-and-white photos.  Since the paper was already pretty busy, I only added a few other elements on the page.

What Would You Do With A Face Like This?

Nox is five months old now, and definitely in his teenage years, meaning he's more gangly and ruff-y / scruffy, and his face is starting to lose its puppy cuteness:

He is pretty darn cute still, though!  He's grown so much that he can't sit in the footwell of the Civic with me anymore--he needs to sit in the back seat.

Although, he does sometimes get into the footwell in the back seat, and that really doesn't seem that comfortable, so I'm not quite sure why he's doing it....  Those ears keeping standing up a little more, so we're not sure if they'll end up standing up all the way, but it seems likely they will partially stand up for life.  (Hopefully the tops will stay floppy!)

Pick a Card, Any Card

My mother-in-law had a little pow-wow and knocked out seven breast cancer awareness cards for a fundraiser.

The cards are pretty simple in layout, but I think they turned out nice, and have a little variation.

I like this card, even though I'm not sure about the button:

With the "CURE" blocks pop-dotted:

Mostly, we let the text speak for itself:

and the two my mother-in-law did, which are both nice also:

The Bride and Bridesmaids Getting Ready

Here is a two-page spread I did for our formal photos wedding album.

I used Creative Memories paper and a rose lace ribbon.  The pictures are various black and whites of me and my bridesmaids getting ready in the morning before the wedding.

I took five photos (one of each bridesmaid) and cut them to the same height to make a row that spans the two pages.

The photos are set off by the red paper and the rose ribbon.

I also used one of my cuddlebug embossing folders to emboss a white piece of paper, adding to the texture of the page.

And here is the final layout:

It's a nice layout of some nice memories from that morning.  I think the layout itself is fairly simple, but looks clean and nice.

Brother and Sister Moment

The third wedding scrapbook I did was the formal pictures book, which includes formal pictures from getting ready, after the ceremony, and candid photos.  There was this great photo of Mark and Jessica giving each other this look, and I knew I wanted it to be the focal point on it's own page.

I also wanted the photo to standout, so I  used a black and white base with red accents.  I like the little black clothespins holding the photo to the heart.  It's like there's a clothespin for each holding them to their own half of the heart.  It's a real brother and sister moment.

Nox the Social Butterfly

Nox is just over four months old, and has been meeting all sorts of people and animals.  Over the weekend, Nox met lots of Spartans at the MSU-UM game.  Even though Nox is a Wolverine, he liked all the Spartans, many of whom loved Nox (in supersonic tones to boot!):

We did a lot of walking at the tailgating, which really wore him out!  He was pretty sleepy for the rest of the day, until we got home--of course.  :)

Nox has also been meeting other dogs, including my parents' dog, Murphy.  Murphy is a big dog, and even though Nox has grown, he is still pretty small and underweight.  All Nox wanted to do was play with Murphy, and Murphy is pretty uninterested.  After a couple of hours of Nox trying to play and Murphy ignoring him, they laid down together:

Nox has also met Dr. Bill, our vet.  Nox has gotten all of his vaccinations, and has also had his pre-adolescent surgery.  Dr. Bill is quite happy with Nox, and we are too!

Just one last photo of cuteness.  :)

Wedding Brunch

So, my informal wedding album is a weird size (like 8x10), and does not have page protectors, so I did a lot of things like fold-outs and pockets.  This page is for the brunch we had the morning after our wedding.  It has lots of room for journaling.

On the inside flap you see some more photos, and a fun washi tape detail!

I matted all of the photos, and rounded them, leaving the journaling cards and title (and the washi tape) un-rounded.

Happy Halloween!

Who's that girl?

It's (pink) Hit Girl! (from Kick-Ass)

For Halloween this year my team at work rocked it!  We all came as super heroes and won the team costume award at work!  Here's all of us in our super glory:

from left to right, front row: Hit Girl, Captain America, Random Awesome Super Hero (my wording, not hers--I can't remember if she finally came up with a name for herself! :)  )
back row: Super Man, Fiona (from Adventure Time), Purple Pwer, Underdog, Education Empress, Competency Crusader

Yes, we are all nerds...

Here's the photo I modeled my costume off of.
